‘Let nothing trouble you... God alone is enough!’
‘Let nothing trouble you, let nothing frighten you; everything passes away, God does not change, patience obtains everything; he who possesses God lacks nothing: God alone is enough.
Lift up your thoughts, go up to heaven, be troubled by nothing, let nothing trouble you. Follow Jesus Christ with a big heart, and whatever happens, let nothing frighten you.
Do you see the glory of the world? It is a vain glory; there is nothing stable in it, everything passes away.
Aspire to the heavenly, which lasts forever; Faithful and full of promises, God does not change. Love Him as He deserves, immense Goodness; but there is no good love without patience.
Let trust and living faith sustain the soul; he who believes and hopes obtains everything.
Even if he is assailed by hell, he will thwart its favours, he who possesses God.
Even if he suffers abandonment, crosses and misfortune, if God is his treasure, he will want for nothing.
Go away, then, worldly goods; go away, vain pleasures: even if you lose everything, God alone is enough.
So be it.
