Sections meeting 2020
21/10/2020
On October 21, 2020, the IMS President and her administrators brought together Section officials and secretaries for their traditional year-end meeting. COVID obliges, everyone was connected to the meeting from his computer or smartphone, from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Mali, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Rwanda, Kenya, Madagascar and Guatemala.
Pandemic management is a strong lesson; indeed, although meetings and some trips were cancelled, the Sections had to take precautions and initiatives to continue their mission of issuing aid, sometimes in times of distress for certain Groups. In this regard, the sharing of experiences was appreciated.
This year again the topics on the agenda were particularly concrete: for 3 hours the leaders presented their activities, before the Central Office addressed the topics of coordination and strategy and the President answered questions.
Recurring topics are covered, such as collective affiliation, the Social Fund, support for groups in difficulty, management audits or member services. Other points have been shared that will contribute to progress for the benefit of members. This is particularly the case with the development of the IMS care network is one of the priorities; to the 13 institutions now under agreement, a dozen other agreements are under consideration. The virtual sharing space between the headquarters and the Sections will be developed to facilitate and speed up the exchanges. Finally, services and development will benefit from the new IMS website, whose enhanced features will be available by the end of 2020.
Sister Auliac praised the work of the Sections; in direct contact with the Groups, the leaders and their team are the driving force behind IMS’s solidarity. They can count on the support of the administrators and the Central Office.
